Down The Rabbithole

"Down, down, down. Would the fall never come to an end! `I wonder how many miles I've fallen by this time?' she said aloud."
- Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll, 1865

My daughter loves Alice in Wonderland.

Not the Disney version of Alice.  Not the Tim Burton version of Alice.  Instead the book version of Alice.  The sassy, witty, pre-teen girl.

And this love of Alice prompted a thought.  Why has she never had an Alice costume?  I've done all manner of other costumes for her: Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, Clawdine Wolf from Monster High, an Elven archer, Flynn Carson and Cassandra Killian from the Librarians, the Pizz from Strongbad....but why not Alice.

This thought then blossomed into something else.  Something that led me Down the Rabbithole.

Why not do multiple versions of Alice.  Using the colors from the book (yellow and white), splashing in a little of the Disney Alice just to break it up (blue) and anything else that would correspond with the theme and take Alice through time.

So, that's where we are at the moment.  Taking Alice through time.  We are in the planning stages of turning our beloved Alice in a time traveler.  Sending her from her mid-Victorian heritage where she sat upon the banks of the river and looked over her sister's shoulder, through time and space, into different eras.

Who knows.  Maybe the Rabbit will follow on this journey.

We shall see.

Check back to see where she lands first on her journey - Down the Rabbithole.
